Unique Dolphin Strategy for Hunting Fish

A pod of bottle-nose dolphins off the coast of Florida have developed a hunting technique unknown in other dolphins. One swims in a circle stirring up mud and then the dolphins wait to catch fish that jump out of the water to escape the contracting circle of muddy water.

    sometimes we believe that humans are so smart, it amazes us when animals demonstrate intelligence in ways that we recognize as intelligence. in truth, it is almost every species but our own who has figured out how to live in harmony with Nature…that is far wiser than we are!
    i’m interested in dolphins in particular…they refute the argument that high intelligence and self awareness necessarily separate humans (or any species) from being in harmony with Nature.
    thanks for your post. really enjoyed the dolphins’ ingenious fishing tactics!
